Kind Words

My my, how I can not recommend Emily Aitken ENOUGH! We went “against tradition” and had a small wedding in Eureka Springs, Arkansas (we are from Louisiana, Emily is from Idaho). Despite our distance, Emily kept up with me through our entire engagement, a whole year and a half, through frequent phone calls and emails. She truly incorporated all of my wants and ideas into our ceremony, turning them into something absolutely amazing. My ceremony/reception was seriously a dream. There is no other way to describe her talent other than impeccable! She made my entire family feel right at home. She is so kind and helpful. I met her the day of my wedding and I felt like I had known her for years. My mother and sister said the same! Her husband Chris also came along to help her set up and he never let a wine glass go empty! The two of them even cleared our plates and helped with the dishes when we were done. Them coming all of the way to Arkansas to provide their services were more than we could have asked for. The cake, flowers, set up, etc was more beautiful than I imagined. I don’t even want to think of how things would have went had they not been there to assist our special day. They are such a team I hope you have the pleasure in booking. The best of the BEST. I am sure of it. We LOVE you Emily and Chris!!

I don't even know where to begin to thank Emily for working with us and for giving us the gift of such a beautiful and unique wedding. It was beyond anything we could have imagined.

I found Emily Aitken Events via a Junebug Weddings Instagram post that featured a woodsy PNW wedding, and I'm so glad I reached out to her. We had scouted a lot of venues that were beyond our price range and she inspired us to do something different. Her style is so lovely and I just didn't realize at all the unique things you could do with a small, intimate wedding until I saw her work. I was mostly nervous about finding a good/budget-friendly venue, and that was easily remedied when Emily found us a beautiful property on the Skykomish River that was the perfect setting for us to celebrate with our families and friends.

In general, I feel like the experience of planning our wedding was so much more laid-back than it could have been because we chose to work with Emily. She communicated with all of our vendors from start to finish of the process, set up a day-of timeline which was incredibly helpful, and she was on-site from before, during, and after the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly. Even with a small group of 25 people- this was so appreciated. She gave us recommendations and ideas when we needed them, and was always there for any questions or help that was needed along the way. She is thoughtful and professional, and it was such a comfort to work with someone who knows all of the details that need to be considered.

Lastly, Emily is a really lovely person to work with and I also enjoyed meeting her husband who was there to assist. Thank you so much again, Emily, for making our wedding so beautiful and memorable for us, our family, and our friends. 🙂

Emily was incredible to work with! My husband and I eloped in the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho on November 4th, it had snowed the night before and was very cold the next day. Emily brought extra snow boots and socks which I ended up needing and was so extremely thankful for! She also set up a campfire with smores and hot cocoa after we eloped and it was a perfect! She scouted out our ceremony location and made sure our day went smoothly. I would highly recommend eloping with your significant other somewhere adventurous and epic, and having Emily style and plan the whole thing!

Emily has been an absolute lifesaver. Like many brides, I was sure I could tackle wedding planning on my own to save on some cost. I realized that the day of was going to be an absolute disaster without some help. She took over all of my vendor communication, planning, and even helped make sure all of my "vision" was cohesive, and even brought some pieces of her own to tie it all together. Our wedding day was simple and beautiful, flowed perfectly, and most importantly, went without a snag. We, as well as our family, were able to enjoy the day. Emily was an absolute pleasure to work with, incredibly organized, well connected in the wedding industry, and CALM. We can't recommend Emily enough for her hard work, and dedication to a beautiful stress free event. We felt like she was a friend by the end of the wedding, and will use her for any event in the future.

Choosing an officiant to be a part of your elopement is strangely difficult. Especially when you’re a shy and private person. Then you have to factor in someone who’s willing to stand in the pouring rain, hike up a mountain to the perfect spot, or drive up a windy dirt road to your location. How do you find these people? You can’t just google “introvert friendly adventure officiant”! But luckily there’s Emily and Chris.

Chris and Emily were a dream to work with. They sent us a survey about us as a couple, Skyped with us, and truly got to know us as a couple. They incorporated every single detail we wanted and didn’t know we wanted into our ceremony - interpreting our wishes for a “less patriarchy, more feminist” ceremony into something magical. Every word that was said for perfectly and when I think back on it I want to cry. Chris and Emily fit into our private and intimate wedding day like family. I also wish I could bottle Chris’ public speaking and writing skills up and drink it because seriously he has SKILLS. And Emily surprised us with the most beautiful tablescape we could have dreamed of. It took our wedding to the next level and was one of my favorite things about our ceremony. They didn’t complain about the freezing rain or windy mountain roads - they were 100% invested in making our day perfect. And I couldn’t be more thankful.

Everything Emily and Chris did was above and beyond our expectations and I couldn’t recommend them more. They are “vendors” that become friends and I am so glad we picked them!
